Before you tell Shopify your app is compatible, make the evidence explicit.

Shopify’s upgrade flow includes compatibility confirmation after you update and verify the integration. This checklist focuses on the evidence an engineering team should have before submitting that confirmation.

PRE-CHECK

Compatibility should be testable, not assumed.

  1. Inventory every merchant-owned delivery-profile read and write.
  2. Confirm the supported replacement path for each affected operation.
  3. Verify app-owned profiles still behave correctly where used.
  4. Test the feature preview on a development store.
  5. Exercise at least one new-install path and one existing-install path.
  6. Test representative market/country/location contexts.
  7. Record rollback conditions and support signals.
  8. Only then submit compatibility confirmation.
